Peritol Syrup 150Ml

COMPOSITION Each 5ml contains Cyproheptadine Hydrochloride I.P.(Anhydrous) 2mg. Flavored Syrupy base q.s. Colour Riboflavin. 

INDICATIONS: Allergic disorders and pruritic dermatoses. Refractory cases of migraine. 

CONTRAINDICATIONS: Glaucoma, Prostatic hypertrophy, Elderly debilitated patients, lactation, Neonates, urinary retention, acute asthma, Stenosing peptic ulcer, Pyloroduodenal obstruction, hypersensitivity to Cyproheptadine and other drugs of similar chemical structure. 

PRECAUTIONS: Cyproheptadine has an atropine like action and therefore should be used with caution in patients with history of bronchial asthma, increased ocular pressure, hyperthyroidism, cardiovascular diseases, and hypertension. Cyproheptadine may diminish mental alertness; conversely, particularly in the young child they may occasionally produce excitation. Patients should be warned about engaging in activities requiring mental alertness and motor coordination, such as driving a car or operating machinery. 

ADVERSE REACTIONS: Most common adverse effects are drowsiness and somnolence other adverse effects reported are dizziness disturbed coordination, confusion, restlessness, excitation, nervousness, tremor, hypotension, palpitation, dryness of mouth, nausea, vomiting, urinary retention. 

USAGE IN PREGNANCY: Pregnancy category B. Animal studies have failed to reveal evidence of fetal harm. There are no controlled data in human pregnancy. Cyproheptadine is only recommended for use during pregnancy when benefit outweighs risk.
