Caltamin 600 + D

COMPOSITION

Each tablet contains: Calcium Carbonate 1 ,500 mg eq. to Calcium 600mg / Cholecalciferol (Vitamin D3) 200 IU 

INDICATIONS

Caltamin D contains calcium which provides more calcium for bones and Contains vitamin D which enhance the absorption of calcium. Caltamin D is used in calcium and vitamin D deficiency states and as an adjunct in the treatment of osteoporosis. 

CONTRAINDICATIONS

Hypersensitivity to any component of medication, hypercalcemia, hypervitaminosis D, hypophosphatemia. 

PRECAUTIONS AND WARNINGS

Daily dose of calcium should not be above 2000 mg. Caltamin D should not be given to patients with hypercalcemia and patients with renal impairment or calculi, or heart disease, who might be at increased risk of organ damage if hypercalcemia occurred. Plasma phosphate concentration should be controlled to reduce the risk of ectopic calcification.  

ADVERSE EFFECTS

Hypercalcemia, nausea, vomiting, constipation, myocardial infarction, swollen abdomen, milk alkali syndrome. 

DRUG INTERACTION

Tetracyclines, Iron Salts, Verapamil, Fluoroquinolones, Bisphosphonates: Calcium reduces the absorption of these drugs clinically significant. Digoxin: Calcium may potentiate digoxin toxicity.
