COMPOSITION

Miconazole Nitrate USP 2% w/w. Cream base q.s 

INDICATIONS

Micoson is used for the treatment of mycotic infections of the skin and nails and super-infections due to Gram-positive bacteria. 

CONTRAINDICATION

Hypersensitivity to Miconazole Nitrate or any of the excipients in this product. 

WARNINGS & PRECAUTIONS

Patients who have sensitive skin or who have reacted adversely to other acne products should be advised to apply a small amount of cream to a small area of skin either behind or on the inner surface of the forearm and leave it for 24 hours. If severe irritation or pronounced redness occurs, it should be advised not to use the product. Avoid in Acute porphyries. Contact with eyes and mucous membranes should be avoided. 

UNDESIRABLE EFFECTS

Common or very common: Nausea, rash and vomiting. Frequency not known: Burning sensation, erythema, hypersensitivity reactions, itching, occasional local irritation. SIDE-EFFECTS, FURTHER INFORMATION: Treatment should be discontinued if side effects are severe. 

PHARMACOLOGICAL ACTION

Micoson is a broad-spectrum antimycotic which offers a high antifungal activity against dermatophytes, yeasts and other phyco-Asco and Adelomycetes, with a potent antibacterial activity against Gram-positive bacilli and cocci. Micoson cream is proved to be markedly effective in secondary infected mycoses, which under other treatments were resistant or reappeared. 

PRESENTATION

An aluminum collapsible tube containing 15 gm cream is packed in a carton along with the Pack Insert.
